The Philosopher. 1865. Etching and drypoint. 240 x 320 (the sheet : 322 x 438 mm). Guérin 43. A very fine proof printed in brown on old azure laid paper, from the edition of 30 proofs made for Dumont in 1894. Some marginal rust spots. Two tiny remnants of gummed kraft at the side edges of the sheet in the center. All margins.
Provenance: collection of the painter Ignacio Zuloaga y Zabaleta (1870-1945), then by descent.
