The catalog states about the set of twenty-six watercolors and drawings by Constantin Guys described at this sale "comes from a single collection. These works once belonged to Charles Baudelaire, and most of them have appeared in various exhibitions of Constantin Guys (Galerie Dru, 1924; Pavillon de Marsan, 1937; Galerie Charpentier, 1943; Bernheim-Jeune 1952; Musée Jacquemard - André, 1957).
