Diana and her nymphs at the bath surprised by Actaeon. (Ovid. Metamorphoses, Book III. 155 - 190). Oil on stone (alabaster or marble) of circular form. Fixed on slate. Diameter : 30 cm. Small restorations in the lower part; small scratches in the lower right corner. Gilded wood frame of octagonal shape decorated with foliage on a blue background. Provenance : Me George Blache, Versailles, June 20, 1974, lot 17 (attributed to Rottenhammer). After the composition by Paulus Francischi (Before 1540-Venice 1596) engraved by Egidius Sadeler (About 1570-1629).
