[Almanac]. Almanac of the province of Burgundy, and particularly of the city of Dijon, for the year 1769 [-1788]. Dijon, L. N. Frantin, 1769-1788. 21 vols. [1783 in duplicate]. Small in-8°. The years 1769 and 1780-1785 are bound in stapled paperback with a vat cover, the years 1770-1779 are bound in contemporary half-brown calf with corners, smooth spine, title page in brown morocco, edges speckled with red; the years 1786, 1787 and 1788 are the subject of a special description. Complete first edition. Text framed. The year 1783 is in duplicate, profusely annotated in pen. The covers are missing, mainly on the spines, while the bindings have an accident on the head cover and some minor worm work; the interiors are fresh. Year 1786. [14] ff. including the title, 265, [3] pp. blond speckled calf, 5-ribbed spine with fleurons, title and date page in blond morocco, triple gilt fillet on the boards, gilt roulette on the necks and endpapers, all edges gilt. (Period binding). From the library of the castle of Lux, home of the SAULX-TAVANNES who were governors of Burgundy, with a bookplate with their coat of arms printed in gilt, bearing their motto "Semper Léo" [probably of Aglaé-Marie-Louise de CHOISEUL-BEAUPRE (1772-Lux, 1861), daughter of the academician CHOISEUL-GOUFFIER, who married in 1786 Charles-Casimir de SAULX, duke and peer]. Nice copy. Year 1787. [8] ff. including the title, 266, [3] pp. spotted fawn basane, spine with 5 raised bands, title and yearbook in blond morocco, triple gilt fillet on the boards, gilt roulette on the necks and the endpapers, all edges gilt. (Binding of the time). Corners slightly bumped, spotting and stain on lower board; inside very fresh, a good copy. Year 1788. [8] ff. including title, 259, [3] pp. spotted tan calf, 5-ribbed spine with fleurons, green morocco title and yearbook, triple gilt fillet on boards, gilt roulette on edges and bands, all edges gilt. (Contemporary binding). A good copy in spite of a small worm work at the head of the spine and at the lower spine.
