Two blue and white porcelain double-gourd vases, China for Vietnam, 19th century-
One decorated on the lower part with the eight Immortals represented in couples in medallions on a background decorated with shou signs, peony flowers on the upper part and a frieze of banana leaves around the neck. - The other decorated with Sushi - 苏轼, a great poet, artist and politician of the Northern Song dynasty seated in a pod with his servants near rocky banks planted with a pine tree and weeping willows, above a crane in flight under the moon and stylized clouds. The top of the vase and the neck are decorated with plum blossoms. The scene is completed with a poem and the inscription: 五百年前续此游,水光依旧接天浮,徘徊今夜东山月,仿佛当年壬戊秋 - "He (Sushi) made this journey 500 years ago,/ Today the water binds to the sky as before, / The moon rising by the eastern mountain wanders hesitantly,/ Similar to that of the autumn of the renxu year (1082) (When Sushi made his trip to Chibi) / 丁未冬月 - The winter of the Dingwei year (1847) / 雜玩 - Precious trinket."
