This is a bronze reduction of the famous Chimera d' Arezzo, discovered in 1553 in Arezzo, Tuscany. It is part of the collection of the Grand Duke of Tuscany Cosimo I. The ancient sculpture being incomplete, the tail of the lion ending in a snake's mouth biting the horn of the goat is a late reconstruction.
