[KT]. - With the first extensive exhibition at Commeter in Hamburg in 1911, object boxes by Karl Schmidt-Rottluff experienced widespread desirability. - Many collectors, such as Rosa Schapire in Hamburg and Karl Ernst Osthaus in Hagen, commission the artist to design and build object boxes and display cases. - With his color design of the bodies borrowed from painting, the artist achieves a fascinatingly sculptural effect....
