Marcel François Loyau was attracted to sculpture at an early age and quickly became a recognized artist. In 1927, he won the National Prize of Fine Arts. He married the painter Jeanne Morancé and the couple moved to Boulogne-Billancourt. He was the founder of the Boulogne Fine Arts Society. He died prematurely at the age of 40.
