Marcel Damboise (1903-1992) The Christiane, 1955-1960 Lacquered gum studio plaster Unsigned 40 x 16 x 10 cm Provenance: Artist's studio, by descent Marcel Damboise represents his regular model Christiane, who also poses for the sculptor Raymond Martin (1910-1992), in a noble and athletic posture, attesting to his daily practice of yoga. The sculpture entitled La Christiane exists in two sizes: 40 and 90 cm high. The small size presented here was distributed in plaster, and the majority of the known proofs are now kept in private collections.
