A very fine proof on strong laid paper, with the number 48 in the cartouche, but before the addition of the same number at the upper right. Folio number 49 in pen and sepia ink in the upper right corner. Normal median vertical fold. One short oblique tear in lower margin, formerly reinforced at foot on verso and another at right edge. Left edge irregular, widely torn, with small binding miter holes and tears. Wide margins. 1st Parisian edition.
