ELLE Louis Ferdinand dit l'Aîné

Portrait of Jean-François, Count of Entremont and Montbell (ca. 1601 - 1671), descendant of Beatrix (Beatrice) de Coligny, daughter of the admiral assassinated on Saint Bartholomew's Day.
He is depicted in a three-quarter view, in a studded armor, crossed by his white scarf of command, the right hand put on a helmet trimmed with colored feathers.
Oil on canvas of origin.
Enlarged horizontally by a wooden element in the upper part (5 cm)
On the reverse side the identity of the model and his titles; then the indication: "Done by Ferdinand l'Aisné, 1658".

Antique frame in wood and gilded stucco with foliage and flowers.
Provenance : Château du Montellier (Ain) where it was kept until recently.
