[Royal Mail & messengers] Lyon school of the XIXth century
Lyon calendar - To its great citizens, the grateful city
Very rare advertising calendar for the year 1843, lithographed by Randon and printed by the widow Ayné, Grande Rue Mercière in Lyon
The sheet : 30 x 40,4 cm
In addition to the first function of calendar, it is given the hours of lifting of the public mailboxes of the principal districts of Lyon. The calendar year is enriched with commercial announcements among which we note those of the river messengers who ensure the daily services of Valence, Avignon, Arles and Marseille (Compagnie des Gondoles à vapeur, Bateaux à vapeur Les Aigles, Les Papin du Rhône et de la Saône), etc.
