Thomas DUMARESQ ( 1729-1802)
Dumaresq is known for having defeated the French during the War of Independence at the naval battle of Les Saintes (April 9-12, 1782). He commanded the HMS Repulse, under the general command of Sir George Rodney.
Dumaresq was promoted to rear admiral on April 12, 1794, vice-admiral on June 1, 1795 and admiral on January 1, 1801. He died on July 18, 1802.
