AGRIGENTE (409-406 B.C.). Silver tetradrachm. 16,58 g. Two eagles on the left on an overturned hare: one raises its head, the other with outstretched wings devours its prey. Behind, a grasshopper. R/ Nike driving a quadriga at full gallop to the left. Above, bunches of grapes. H.G.C. 2-85. Jameson 511. Slight trace on the reverse. Of a remarkable style and of great rarity. Very nice copy. Provenance: sale Paris, Hôtel Drouot, February 6, 1956, Hindamian collection, n°173 and Collignon sale, December 1919, n°77.
