Account of the "Beggar Brother", a Spanish Franciscan monk of the XIVth century who had traveled in Africa (notably in Guinea and Ghana) before the colonization. The editor Iliazd loved travelogues and was very interested in black Africa. He had married a black princess in 1943. Picasso willingly collaborated in this Franco-Spanish enterprise as a tribute to Black Africa and its civilization. Ref : Cramer n° 98
