We thank Professor Francesco Petrucci for placing this painting in the circle of Lazzaro Baldi, a pupil of Pietro da Cortona, for the tenebrousness and heavy typology of the figures. A painter close to the manner of Giovan Battista Lenardi, by mail and digital photo November 27, 2021.
Mary Salome, wife of Zebedee, was the mother of the apostles James and John. The theme illustrates a passage from the Gospel according to St. Matthew: "Then the mother of the sons of Zebedee came to him with her sons, and bowed down to ask him something: 'What do you want? "He said to her. She said to him, 'Command that these two sons of mine sit, one on your right and one on your left, in your kingdom. "Jesus reminded her that his mission is not to give out rewards, but to suffer to save people.
