A gilt bronze or varnished clock in the form of a simulated vase with a gadrooned lid and a satyr mask holding intertwined snakes; pedestal with a laurel base; it is presented on a white marble base with a mascaron and interlacing frieze. The enamelled dial signed Cronier in Paris indicates the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in increments of five in Arabic numerals.
