TÔN-THÂT Tiêt (born 1933). Autograph musical manuscript signed, Moments rituels for tenor saxophone, percussion and synthesizer, 1989; 29 sheets (1-28 and 23 bis) 37 x 27.5 cm. Piece for saxophone, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture for the 150th anniversary of the saxophone. The first of two Ritual Moments (the second in 1992 for saxophone ensemble), it was premiered in 1990, at the Rencontres régionales de saxophone de la région Alpes-Provence-Côte d'Azur. It lasts 18 minutes. The percussion includes 2 wood blocks, 2 bongos and 2 toms; "the percussion part must be played with a lot of suppleness, in the spirit of Indian or Vietnamese music". The manuscript is carefully written down in Indian ink on tracing paper; it is dated at the end "St Maur 14/11/89 19/12/89".
