- Emmanuel CHABRIER. Autograph musical manuscript, [Idylle, 1888 ?]; 11.5 x 26.5 cm.
Fragment of the part for the "1st violins", "5th desk" (indicated on the verso, and at the head of the music), from No. 1 (Idylle) of the Suite pastorale, an orchestration by Chabrier of four of his Pièces pittoresques, premiered on November 4, 1888, in Angers, conducted by the composer. This fragment is an autograph collage intended to be pasted onto an orchestral part drawn up by a copyist, and then cut out; marked All° non tanto, it contains 16 bars in small notes of exchanges between flutes, oboes and clarinet, before the entry of the violins.
Attached is a s.s. card to a friend, September 18, 1888 (in-12, flaws): "Accolade for accolade; between bedons, we are going to spike the lightning again!"...
