Jules Verne's tobacco jar with his figure. No mention of the manufacturer. This tobacco pot, made of bone (or ivory) and equipped with a steel hinge to connect the lid to its support, was probably placed on a table in the living room of Jules Verne's house in Amiens, or perhaps on his desk... As far as we know, the author of The Extraordinary Journeys did not smoke, but in the second half of the 19th century, courtesy demanded that his guests be offered tobacco for their pipes. The figure of Jules Verne appears on the lid. Slight dent in the bottom of the pot. Otherwise, very good condition. We have no doubt that this personal object of Jules Verne, so finely made, is a unique piece!
