China, 19th and early 20th century, a beautiful hongmu wood window screen, the screen, closed by a glass pane, presenting several staggered shelves underlined on their perimeter by stylized scrolls in light relief, the sides carved with a bat holding a ribbon from which are suspended coloquintes with foliage. It is inserted in a base whose lateral uprights are made of two coloquintes joined together, surrounded by their foliage and joined by a bat holding a sound gong, the crosspiece joining the two uprights presenting three small drawers with stylized interlacing decoration. (The shelves are probably later, as is the glass; the bases of the side jambs are of a different wood). H. 71 cm W. 75 cm D. 31 cm. Expert : Cabinet ANSAS & PAPILLON
