The whole enclosed in a copy of the cover filled with Vergé de Montval paper, illustrated with an original lithograph by Picasso in red and black on the boards and the spine The whole protected by a titled folder in half red morocco with bands; names of the author, illustrator title and mention of proofs on the spine in gilt letters. Lined slipcase (Semet & Plumelle). Portrait of Max Jacob in lithograph on transfer paper, serving as a frontispiece to the work (180 x 242 mm), on double sheet (the second sheet being blank), bearing the painter's autograph mention in pencil: "Bon à tirer / Picasso / Cannes le 10.9.56"; 3 original drypoints on Montval laid paper, each bearing the autograph mention in ballpoint pen: "Bon à tirer : Picasso". Attached on a sheet of wrapping paper is this autograph note in red and blue pencil by Picasso: "Proofs Broder Max et Paul. Exceptional document.
