History: Achille-François Bégé was a high civil servant of the July monarchy: maître des requêtes at the Conseil d'Etat, prefect of the Pyrénées-Orientales from 1832 to 1833, prefect of the Hérault from 1833 to 1835, prefect of the Haute-Garonne from December 5, 1835 to May 1837, State Councillor, prefect of the Eure (1837-1838) and of the Hérault (1838-1841).
