Henri Matisse, André Derain, Georges Braque, Marc Chagall and so many others have set up their easels there.
Jean Peské discovered Collioure for the first time in 1902, he was charmed by the beauty of its port and stayed there for a long time.
From 1939 to 1944, Jean Peské lives between Collioure and Paris.
He realized this watercolour in 1940; the heights of Collioure and the small port are revealed by vivid colours.
