Alfred Fichelle (Paris 1889-Paris 1968), is an author, specialist of the Slavic world, agrégé of history and geography. In 1920 he left for Prague and became a professor at the French Institute in the same city. In 1931, he was appointed deputy director. In 1932, the French Institute in Prague organised an exhibition dedicated to the painter Maurice Mendjizky. It was on this occasion that Maurice Mendjizky met Mr Alfred Fichelle.
