Portrait of Mr. Alfred Fichelle Circa 1932 Charcoal and chalk on paper 60 x 45 cm Signed and dedicated lower right "Mendjizky with all my friendship To Mr Alfred Fichelle Alfred Fichelle (Paris 1889-Paris 1968), is an author, specialist of the Slavic world, agrégé of history and geography. In 1920 he left for Prague and became a professor at the French Institute in the same city. In 1931, he was appointed deputy director. In 1932, the French Institute in Prague organised an exhibition dedicated to the painter Maurice Mendjizky. It was on this occasion that Maurice Mendjizky met Mr Alfred Fichelle.
