China, Yunnan - Spectacular diplomatic medallion offered by General Tang Jiyao, Governor of Yunnan, to Mrs. Albert Sarraut : important jewel representing two superimposed suns with eight points, the center decorated with two dragons facing each other holding a blue stone cabochon, plain reverse side chiseled with sinograms meaning "7th year of the Republic of China [1918]. Please retain, wife of M. Sarraut, Governor General. Respectfully presented by Tang Jiyao, Governor of Yunnan Province", suspended from a bat motif topped by a camellia flower, the emblem of Yunnan. With a long chain of forty-four links of ovoid shape in gold.
