Firmin Didot, second son of François Ambroise Didot, was born in Paris on April 14, 1794 and died on April 24, 1836
April 24, 1836 in Mesnil sur l'Estrée. He was an engraver and founder, inventor of the stereotype and
and became printer of the Industry in 1811. We owe him the verse translations of the Bucolics of
Virgil (1806), the Idylls of Theocritus (1833), and a tragedy of Annibal.
