[LIGHTING] Initial "S " ornamented Fragment of an antiphonal or graduated Tempera, gouache, ink and burnished gold on parchment Italy, Lombardy (Piacenza or Milan (?)), c. 1470-1490 Dimensions: fragment (H. 161 x L. 120 mm); initial (H. 147 x L. 116 mm) This initial may be related to the decorated and illuminated initials associated with Piacenza, especially the large choral books painted for the Abbey of San Sisto in Piacenza. Condition: a few burnished gold flakes if not in good condition; on the back, paper remains from an old gluing.
