First edition of the French translation by Louis Le Vasseur. Grew was one of the first botanists to scientifically study the anatomy and physiology of plants. His work was published in London in 1672 and completed in 1682. This translation is important because it was revised, approved and enlarged by Grew himself. Very interesting illustrations: frontispiece and 3 vignettes drawn and engraved in etching by François Chauveau, woodcut vignettes and headbands and 14 TECHNICAL VIGNETTES OF MICROSCOPE OBSERVATIONS ENGRAVED IN ETCH AND PRINTED
IN THE TEXT.
