ONE OF THE NICE VIGNET BOOKS OF THE XVIIth CENTURY AND ONE OF THE MOST PERFECT, "A MASTERPIECE OF THE XVIIth CENTURY" (Cohen). It is decorated in the first edition with a title vignette, a frontispiece (for the Month of May), 22 headpieces and 22 endpapers drawn by Charles Eisen (two endpapers are by Marillier). Copy on Hollande paper in its very first edition, with the pagination errors. It was magnificently bound by Duru for Baron Double (catalogue, 1863, n° 147) and sold for 150 fr. to M. Dutillet; Dutillet sale, catalogue, Paris, 1938, I, n° 14.
