Louis MAJORELLE (1859-1926) and DAUM in Nancy
Table lamp model "Water lily" with base in
ormolu ornamented with a base of three frogs
in the round on a background of stylized leaves
from which three leafy branches emerge
of water lilies. Three-lobed glass corolla dish
acid-etched and recut with leaf decoration
of water lilies in shades of yellow-orange.
Signed Daum on the cup and L. Majorelle on
the foot.
H. 69 cm.

A model of this lamp appears in the collections
of the Musée d'Orsay with a naturalist frame
on which the frogs are absent.
In 1890, Louis Majorelle opened a workshop in the city of Paris.
dedicated to metal work, and the collaboration between the two houses
Majorelle and Daum started in 1903 on the occasion of
of the execution of this lamp.
