Thomas Hache (1664-1747)

This Provençal two-part cabinet with a receding section was made by Thomas Hache in Chambéry in ca. 1685. A first in the famous cabinetmaker's output on several accounts.

The wedding cabinet "aux mascarons" in marquetry signed Thomas Hache (1664-1747) soared to more than double its high estimate at the Prunier auction, Monday the 27th. Made in Chambéry, it is typical of the creations of the cabinetmaker during his stay in the Savoyard city, estimated between 1690 and 1695.

This group embodying the birth of modern architecture, no less, was greeted with honour beneath Drouot's dome.

The current deputy director general of the City of Nice in charge of culture and heritage has been appointed to the direction of communication and digital of the Centre Pompidou, succeeding Agnès Benayer. Born in 1973, Thomas Aillagon was also in charge of communications at the Musée du Quai Branly.

18th-century English painter's childhood home in Suffolk has been transformed into an international center and museum dedicated to his work. The museum, which is the largest in Suffolk, includes a new 3-story building together with the newly restored landmarked medieval, Georgian and Regency townhouse where he was born

The contemporary art center in Noisiel, east of Paris, welcomes Thomas Conchou as artistic director. Co-founder of the curatorial collective Le Syndicat Magnifique, he has worked with the association Jeune Création and the Poggi Gallery. In 2022, he was the guest curator of the first edition of The Kooples Art Prize.

Loughman will be stepping down after 5 yrs as the CEO of the Hartford Connecticut museum. The co-chair of the US National Committee of the International Council of Museums, Loughman seeks further his longstanding commitment to fostering partnerships between arts organizations in this country and abroad. Since 2017, Mr. Aillagon has been the director of communication of the Quai Branly Museum. On November 18, he will start as deputy director-general of the City of Nice, in charge of culture and heritage. The entity joins together the 12 municipal museums and all cultural venues such as libraries.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art announced that the masterpiece will go on display in its galleries as a long-term loan from the Thomas H. and Diane DeMell Jacobsen PhD Foundation. The Foundation bought the work, sold by the Newark Museum of Art in May. It will be exhibited at the museum from July 2nd. (press release)

Born in 1983, Ariane Thomas – who has been in charge of the Louvre’s Mesopotamian collections since 2011 – has taken up her new role as of January 11, 2021, for a renewable term of three years. She succeeds Marielle Pic, who has led the department since 2014.
