As the Musée d'Orsay celebrates the 150th anniversary of Impressionism this year, and its own 40th anniversary in 2026, its president—who has since been appointed head of the Château de Versailles— has been reorganizing the collection layout and overseeing various projects.

A new member of the Executive Committee and Board of TEFAF, for which he has directed the antique dealers' section since the beginning of the month, this unobtrusive man is the dealers' spokesperson. He gives us his views on the fair.

The former director of contemporary African art sales at Piasa and Artcurial is opening a space in the Marais, at 39, rue des Blancs-Manteaux, where the work of Cameroonian artists Wilfried Mbida and Manga Lulu Williams will be exhibited starting on December 15.

The appointment was expected: Christoph Wiesner, artistic director of Paris Photo, was nominated by the board of directors of the Rencontres d'Arles. He will take over from Sam Stourdzé, who left for the Villa Medicis, as director of the event. He will inaugurate the Hexagon exhibition on Monday, June 29th.

The Rothko Chapel Chairman of the Board of Directors, curator of the Louis Vuitton Foundation retrospective and author of Mark Rothko, from the Inside Out has been promoting his father’s work for over 30 years.

For the past 10 years post-war icon, Christopher Wool, born in 1955 in Chicago, has witnessed a lightning ascent in art galleries and cultural institutions following the retrospective organized by the Guggenheim Museum in New York in 2013. 

The gallery announced on its Instagram account its collaboration with the family of Eugène Dodeigne (1923-2015). The first exhibition in the Parisian space will coincide with the centenary of the birth of the French sculptor, to whom La Piscine de Roubaix dedicated its first French retrospective in 2021.

His appointment was confirmed by the Council of Ministers on November 25. The former director of the Kunstenfestivaldesarts takes over from Christine Perpette, who has been acting as interim director since the death of Sophie Lauwers in June 2022. Slagmuylder has a solid background in the performing arts.

City officials removed and will possibly restore a statue of the controversial 15th-century explorer, considered by some as the 'discoverer' of the Americas and by others a symbol of the abuse of Amerindians by Europeans. The move comes in response to activist threats to topple the statue. (Brussel Times)

The Parisian gallery now represents the estate of Georges Noël (1924-2010), a figure of post-war abstract art, relatively unknown in France.  Known for his paintings he called "palimpsests", in which writing is a recurrent feature, the French artist moved to the United States in 1968 where he was represented by Pace.
