The Art Institute of Chicago acquires two works by French-Mexican artist Alice Rahon

The museum now has in its collection two paintings by the late Surrealist: Peau de soleil (1944) and Self-Portrait and Autobiography (1948). Born in France in 1904, Alice Rahon was a poet who turned to painting after meeting Frida Kahlo in Paris, who encouraged her to settle in Mexico.
