Gentileschi was one of few female artists successfully recognized in her own time – almost four years ago. A rare painting entitled Judith and her Maidservant with the Head of Holofernes (1639 or 1640) is now on display at the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design (Nasjonalmuseet) in Oslo.
