The oil on canvas – entitled The White Horse, the Saint Anne Chapel in front of the sea, Trégastel – is up for auction on March 15 in Rennes, estimated at €200,000 / €300,000. The work testifies both to the artist’s love for the Breton coast and to his Symbolist period, which saw horses appear as “recurring” subjects.
