A STRIPED LACQUER AND AN INLAID ‘WOOD AND HORN’ CHILONG SNUFF BOTTLE Lacquer, wood and horn China, 20th century The striped lacquer bottle of melon shape with a matching stopper. The wood snuff bottle with an attractive grain, inlaid with horn chilong with trifurcated tails. The reverse with an inscription in seal script. Dimensions: HEIGHT (with stopper) 6.8 - 7.5 CM Condition: Both in good condition Provenance: French private collection, formerly collection of John Ault – known for the publication on snuff bottles from Robert Kleiner: ‘Chinese Snuff Bottles from the Collection of John Ault’ (1990)
