TL-TESTED STANDING FIGURE Terracotta with remnants of original painting China, Six Dynasties (221-589); This example of the sensitively executed, atmospheric style of the Six Dynasties period (before Sui and Tang) probably depicts a standing camel rider in a three-quarter-length robe. The robe is light and loose; the shoes are probably boots. The face, which is not Chinese, is very sensitive in its execution. The figure wears a cap on its head. Dimensions: HEIGHT 24.5 CM Condition: The original painting is still well-preserved and partially covered in soil. Provenance: Collection of Herbert Keuper, Germany
