A HUGE CHINESE TANG-STYLE TERRACOTTA SCULPTURE OF A NOBLE LADY
Low-fired terracotta with earthen slip
China, style of the Tang dynasty (618-907)
This sculpture of a noble lady is made from low-fired terracotta with an earthen slip and is of an impressive size. The lady has beautifully incised hair, parted in the middle, and a very elegant appearance with her two hands clasped together.
