China, lower Xiajiadian Culture, c. 2200-1600 BC
Chinese Neolithic pottery tripod vessel; of simple cylindrical form with flared rim, and set upon three pointed, conical supports. The Lower Xiajiadian Culture, contemporary with Shang and Zhou, was centered in northeast China. Vessels like the present were found at numerous burials, possibly used as a ritual funerary wine vessel.
Dimensions: HEIGHT 26 CM, MOUTH DIAMETER 17 CM
