[Van de] HOEY "De Laak buÿte Nykerk in Het Veere. Agustus 1719" Grey ink pen and charcoal, 35,5 x 50,5 cm, loose sheet. Reverse: ms inscription (see title) and attribution to "V.D. Hoeÿ fe[cit]" (stain in the sky, little tear closed on the left). A little cabin surrounded by trees and hedges on a sunny day, near a little river. At the foreground, cows and a young boy. "De Laak" is a stream in the area of Antwerp. The paper watermark is almost similar to the one of J. Honing & Zoonen (ref. Churchill n° 322). We did not find any information relating to a certain Hoey or Van den Hoey living in the 18th century. Prov. Albert Van Loock, art dealer in Brussels (stamp).
