La sonde Ranger 7 est la première sonde du programme d'observation lunaire "Ranger" a fonctionner et à s'écrarer comme prévu sur le sol lunaire. Conçue comme le premier missile balistique inter-astral la sonde Ranger avait en effet comme seul objectif celui de s'écraser et de réaliser des photographies transmises sur Terre avant l'impact. Ses photographies sont les premières à révéler à l'Homme d'importants détails de la topographie lunaire. Tirage argentique d'époque.
