Compass rose, 1695. Drawing on paper, c. 36 x 23 cm, coloured brown, yellow and red, with extended flowery decoration around the compass rose; with a short commentary in Dutch. Framed (without glass). Paper age-toned, some thumbing otherwise good condition. Nicely drawn. At top “Anno 1695 den 19 december Konst der Zeevaert Pieter dakman [?]”. Text above and under the compass rose : "wanneer de sons opgangck is benoorden het oost en den onderganck beruyden het west oft den opganck bezuyden het oost en den onderganck benoorden het west addeert beyde peylingen (...)".
