Kant, Immanuel - - Metz, Andreas. Introduction...

Kant, Immanuel - - Metz, Andreas. Introduction to the study of theor. formal philosophy or Logic according to Kant's principles. German lecture transcript on paper. Würzburg, dated 29.I.1799. 1 leaf, 232 pp. 22 x 17 cm. German cursive by 2 hands in brown-black ink. Contemporary paperback (heavily rubbed, spine missing). Metz (1767-1839) taught philosophy at the Julianeum in Würzburg from 1794 and at the university from 1798. He presented Kant's teachings on behalf of Prince-Bishop Fechenbach in an abridged form that was not offensive to the church. - At the head of the title the name "Fuchs", apparently the author of the postscript up to p. 166. According to Merkle, Matrikel der Universität Würzburg, 1922, no. 24304, Franz Josef Fuchs "von Sulzdorf" was enrolled as a first-year theologian in the winter semester of 1798/99. The place is probably written for Sulzfeld im Grabfeld, a subsequent note from 1860 is labeled with the Sulzfeld district of Kleinbardorf. The rest of the manuscript is in a second hand, with a further name at the foot of the title, also dated 1799, illegibly crossed out. The manuscript closes with the abbreviation of "Omnia ad maiorem dei gloriam" as well as a sight note (?) "ita ego docens mp.". - Untrimmed, browned, small burn hole in the first text leaf, small worm marks in the binding. #
