Our cabinet is typical of the Île de France style of the first half of the 17th century. A more richly carved and slightly earlier example illustrating the alliance between Parisian joinery and Limoges enamellers is preserved in the Louvre Museum's Department of Works of Art from the Middle Ages, Renaissance and Modern Periods under inventory number MRR 60.
