Double bass attributed to Emile Boulangeot, early 20th century. Total table length 116 cm, vibrating length 105.2cm, tuning fork 60 cm. Two-piece back 114 cm.
Belonged to the double bassist who accompanied Colette Magny for five years and played in concert with Louis Sclavis.
First restored in the 1970s by Jacques Fustier and Joël Mentec, then regularly maintained by Patrick Charton and Jean Auray. Replacement of the soundboard, made from a copy of the old one, and replacement of a splint.
Instrument in good restoration and playing condition, fitted with Spirocore strings. Head bent, neck changed.
The instrument shows some normal signs of wear (upper left splint restored, lower left splint changed, small shock to upper right splint).
