It was to announce a collaboration with Steinway pianos in the supply of specially matched and laminated "striped" Macassar ebony veneers that Martin produced the limited edition of this superb CEO-2 ("CEO's Choice") in 1998.
Martin's CEO at the time, Chris Martin, once again selected all the specifications and embellishments for this second series of limited-edition guitars.
This model recalls the commercial collaboration of two iconic behemoths of acoustic instrument production, Martin and Steinway.
