MIRÓ Joan, HIRTZ Lise IL ÉTAIT UNE PETITE PIE Paris, Jeanne Bucher, 1928 : in-4 (325 x 245 mm) of 19 ff. mitered - Publisher's blue gummed paper boards, blue percaline spine, printed title vignette on the first cover, collage of yellow, red and green papers on the second. Marginal discoloration on front cover. First edition illustrated with 8 color drawings by Miró reproduced in stencil. Edition of 300 copies, this one of 280 on Arches (n°140, crossed out). An exceptional copy, undoubtedly a test specimen, in an unknown publisher's slipcase. The first board features an unpublished title vignette designed by Miró, printed in black on torn paper in the shape of a drop; the second board is decorated with a collage of colored papers, giving the work a look more in keeping with that of a children's album than the usual folder. The leaves are mounted on tabs, identical to some of the copies distributed by the authors at the time. Bibliography: Cramer, I.
