(accidents and tears)
This tapestry was woven after the Aurora fresco painted in 1614 by Guido Reni (1575 -1642). This decoration was commissioned by the Roman cardinal Scipione Borghese for the ceiling of his nymphaeum (Casino dell'Aurora) in Rome. It depicts Aurora, goddess of the dawn, giving birth to a new day as she paves the way for Apollo, god of light.
