Height 17.6 Width 21.7 cm.
Provenance: Val-de-Loire estate, several generations old.
Gustave Le Gray, 1857. An albumen print of a collodion glass plate negative entitled "Camp de Châlons : manœuvres : cavalerie de la Garde impériale" ("Châlons Military Camp: Maneuvers: Artillery and Mounted Chasseurs of the Imperial Guard").
Condition: composition where the halo formed by the lens reinforces the aesthetic power of the image.
Oblique chemical trace, visible on the image and on the back.
